Praslin has some spectacular beaches and its easy to find a completely empty beach short walk from the hotels. An impossibly picturesque twisting coastal lane winds around the island and is perfect for cycling , strolling, driving or taking the local bus. A coral reef shelters the crystal clear waters, lapping white sand beaches which look as if they have been scrubbed by hand.
One of the great things about holidaying on a small island like Praslin is the opportunity to move to where the best weather can be found. During May to October the south- east monsoon winds make the south coast more windy with rougher seas and quantities of sea grass but with lower humidity. At this time the opposite coast is still and more humid. Visit in the November to April period and the situation is reversed. But whatever the time of year, inland theres lots of tropical woodland, especially in the delightful Vallee de Mai National Park.
