MAHE

Hyperlinks on the map will navigate you to details on resorts/hotels
This is Seychelles main island and the gateway for all arriving overseas visitors at the islands airport, about 10km outside Victoria. Mahé is a granite island extending to 150sq.m.

Just 27km long and between three and eight wide, Mahé has a densely forested interior which is great for walkers with several granite peaks running through the centre. Most villages and hotels are along the narrow coastal strip, with a particular concentration around the Beau Vallon Bay in the Northwest. All hotels are easily accessible from the airport which is just south of the capital and main port, Victoria at the foot of the 900m Morne Seychellois and Trois Freres.

Mahé is the most developed of the islands and is home to three quarters of the islands 75,000 population. The first of the Seychelles Islands to be developed for tourism in the 50’s and 60’s, the island is enjoying a new lease of tourism life with the opening of several top range hotels over the past couple of years.
