The new Villas de Mer, situated on the west coast of Praslin facing the islands of Cousin & Cousine, stands on a prime site of the island’s longest beach.
The hotel has been completely renovated and now offers 10 mini suites with seven in three villas and three others situated in a “plantation style” house all sea facing.
The day can be spent criss-crossing the island footpaths, visiting the Garden of Eden (Vallée de Mai), discovering the neighbouring islands of Aride, Cousin, Curieuse, La Digue and admiring the outline of other far–off islands. Enjoy watching the beautiful sunset over the islands of Cousin & Cousine, while sipping a tropical cocktail before enjoying dinner facing the sea.
The sea view beach restaurant, provides Creole and European cuisine under the management of Lydia Lablache of the Britannia Hotel, also well-known for its excellent cuisine.
A kiosk along the beach offers fresh 'catch of the day' fish from the local fishermen, snacks and salads.
Deep sea fishing, scuba diving and excursions to neighbouring islands can be organised upon request at nearby establishments. Free transports are provided for scuba diving at any diving centre on the Island.
The new Villa de Mer is situated only five minutes away by car from the Lemuria Hotel and its 18 hole championship golf course.
During the South East Monsoon (from May to October) the hotel daily removes the seaweed that is deposied on the beach. Free transport to Anse Volbert and Anse Lazio beaches is offered.
